The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering celebrated World Teachers’ Day at Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering Research & Technology, Chandrapur. Dr. Anil Chitade, Principal was present as the Chief Guest. Prof. Parag Dhankar, Head of Department, Dr. Anjum Qureshi, TREES Incharge, and Prof. Rajesh Bhute were present for the inauguration.
During his address, Dr. Anil Chitade appreciated students’ efforts in organizing an event to celebrate the bond of teachers and students. He said that World Teachers’ Day is observed in more than 100 countries and it emphasizes the importance of quality education globally. Prof. Parag Dhankar told that this small gesture of the students indicates students’ gratitude toward their teachers for the efforts all the teachers have been making to shape the future and foster learning among the students. Dr. Anjum Qureshi, spoke about the participation of students in various national and international event. All the students who participated in the world record event by the Institute of Green Engineers were felicitated by giving certificates at the hands of Dr. Anil Chitade. Sahil Sur, TREES President also expressed his views and extended gratitude to all the teachers.
A panel discussion with all the teachers was organized to mark the celebration of World Teachers’ Day. The teachers of the department participated in the discussion and expressed their views about the changes they have observed in the education sector, what should be the role of students in achieving sustainability, and how educators are working locally and globally to develop future leaders. Sanskruti Nagrale, Jiya Nishad, Shreya Puddatwaar, Sayali Dhote, Tanvi Nadurkar, Mahek Qureshi were the moderators for the panel discussion. The celebration of World Teacher’s Day was done under the guidance of Shafique Ahmed, President, and Vinod Dattatray, Secretary of the Sardar Patel Memorial Society. The students also presented poems, and speeches and organized games for all the teachers. Jatin proposed the vote of thanks. Yash Bisen, Abhijit, Shruti Pandey and other student coordinators worked for the success of the program.
